After 13+ years in the US I am trying to bring my Swedish culture back in to my otherwise very American life. As a "new" mom I am figuring out ways to get my girls exposure to Swedish ways of living.

SAM - that's me. I am half Swedish, half Danish, and have lived in the US since 1999. I grew up in southern Sweden and still love everything Scandinavian, fashion, design, food, nature and more. I love to share what I find and hope it will inspire others both American, Swedish-American and Swedish moms to get some Scandinavian in their lives.
Little L (LL) - Our first born little girl born in the first part of 2009. She is a happy little girl who loves to talk, eat, read books, sing and play. What every little girl her age lovers to do. Except for the talking maybe, she talks all the time and so far exclusively in American. She has definitely turned in to a burly girl and wants everything princess.
Baby L - The baby of the family born in May of 2011. With only two years between the girs we have our hands full, and loving every minute. Baby L is much more laid back than Little L was at her age.
Both Little L and I are blond and blue eyed like a stereotypical Swede. Baby L has the blue eyes but still has a full head of brown hair so we will have to wait and see if she will turn blond as well.
JJ - My very stereotypical American fantastic husband, who never left the country until he met me.
I want our girls to be able to grow up with influences from both Sweden and America. The American part comes easy since this is where we live, but the Swedish part is a bit more difficult. That is where this blog comes in handy.
